Allen Heffler, is a Medicare broker and insurance agent in Willow Grove and Bala Cynwyd, PA. Do you live in the greater Philadelphia area and turning 65 in the next six months? Are you confused about what you need to do about Medicare? Allen can help. The Medicare process can be confusing. You are getting tons of mail every single day which makes things even more confounding. It is important to tackle the Medicare process methodically and take things one step at a time.
First, you need to determine if you are even going to go onto Medicare. If you have health insurance either through your work or a spouse’s current employment, there is a chance that it might be prudent to stay on that coverage and not go onto an individual Medicare Plan. If this is an option, you want to determine if it is indeed your best option. You will want to compare premiums and benefits between employer sponsored coverage and a Medicare Plan. Allen can assist you with this.
For the sake of this article, we will assume that you will go onto Medicare. The next step is to apply for Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. If you are collecting Social Security, this should be done automatically. If you are not collecting Social Security, you need to be pro-active and enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B. You can do this at a Social Security office or online at www.ssa.gov
The final step is to determine what the best type of Medicare Insurance is right for you. You can chose between Original Medicare plus a Medigap Plan plus a Part D prescription Plan. Or, you can choose a Medicare Advantage Plan. Many Medicare Advantage Plans have a Part D prescription coverage built into the coverage.
All of this can be confusing. Allen Heffler, President of MyMedicareAdvsior can help. Just call (215) 658-1776.
